digital photography
Many have a negative outlook on digital photography, including professional photographers. Those who knock digital photography either can't use it, don't understand it or have put it in the too hard basket. Like all things it is a skill.

Digital photography eliminates the problem that film cameras have of using only the film that is available in the camera (colour or black and white). For instance if you have B&W film in the camera you must use it all before you can change to colour, and vice versa. This is why photographers who shoot film always have two cameras that they switch between.

With film photography, colour images can be converted to B&W, but it is expensive. On the other hand, an image captured on B&W film cannot be converted back into colour. Digital photography has none of these limitations, as each and every shot can be converted from colour to B&W or sepia with the press of a button!

Convenience, quality, versatility and immediate results are what best describes digital photography! This brings us to the exciting possibilities of what digital photography can offer, digital manipulation, image retouching, or as we like to call it here at MRB Photography ... "Glamour Hero" shots.

What is a "Glamour Hero" Shot?

Due to the marvels of digital photography I am able to retouch your photos. This means no pimples, no bags under the eyes, perfect skin and clear eyes - considering that the night before your wedding you can barely sleep!!! I have decided to call these perfect pictures "Glamour Hero shots". As these images require extra editing this service is an added cost.

By looking at these before and after images it is obvious that they have been retouched. All signs of pimples and blemishes have been eliminated. The flowers and background have been saturated, while the dress has been brightened, suit darkened and all are now more vivid. The entire image has been lightened to give a fresh and romantic "wedding glow".

Another application for the Glamour Hero Shot is when your wedding day is less than perfect due to the weather. Unfortunately every morning, afternoon and sunset is not perfect. When getting married the weather may not be what you expected or hoped for. This we cannot and do not have any control over. However digital photography allows you to enhance what has already been captured by the camera into something special ...

Ugly overcast days can become dramatic backdrops of passion. Drawing out colours that were already there and intensifying them, darkening backgrounds to create more drama, isolating certain parts of the image from colour to B&W or sepia can turn an interesting shot into a spectacular shot! There is no limit to what can be done it is all up to the imagination. After all your wedding day is a magical occasion so why not let some of that magic spill over into your photographs.
